Movie Review: “Happy Feet Two”

Warner Bros.
Director: George Miller
Who is in it: Elijah Wood, Robbin Williams, Pink, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Sofia Vergara
What it is about: Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven -- a penguin who can fly! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces.
Why we like it: Dancing and singing penguins, penguin world catastrophes, amazing drawing; what's not to like? "Happy Feet Two" is the definition of "animation" itself - the act of bringing to life. We can't get enough of the krills and their contrasting personalities, Erik's baby penguin voice and the love-struck Ramon. The story manages to highlight real-life issues in today's changing world.
Why we don't: The story starts out well but progression is slow later on. While the characters come together well, the main or sole purpose of the krills were probably for the element of humour amidst the penguin world catastrophe.
Verdict: Great movie the kids will love for certain; if you loved "Happy Feet," you'll probably love this one. It will have you forget about the real world for as long as the movie lasts - a hundred minutes.
Ratings: 3.5 / 5 stars
