No Bill Murray for 'Ghostbusters 3'

(Relaxnews) - Dan Aykroyd confirmed to the British daily Metro that Bill Murray will not be part of the cast for the forthcoming reboot of the 1980s movie franchise Ghostbusters.
"I can tell you [Bill Murray] won't be involved," reveals a disappointed Dan Aydroyd. "It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on. It's time to make the third one."
The project for a third Ghostbusters film has been underway since the '90s but it only got the greenlight from Columbia Pictures in 2008. Over the past four years, Bill Murray's reluctance to get back in Peter Venkman's ghost-hunting suit postponed the shooting of the movie, in spite of a solid script.
The film will see a younger bunch of Ghostbusters cleaning up the neighborhood.
