Chris Hemsworth is Spielberg's choice for 'Robopocalypse'

(LOS ANGELES-Relaxnews) - Chris Hemsworth has starred in Thor, The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman in just over one year and now Steven Spielberg wants the Australian actor to join his next film Robopocalypse, a sci-fi action adventure.
One of the most coveted roles in Hollywood, according to Deadline Hollywood, this film is based on the novel by Daniel H. Wilson and tells the story of humans attempting to survive an apocalyptic robot rebellion by forming a resistance movement.
The techno thriller is scripted by Drew Goddard (Cloverfield, Cabin in the Woods, Lost) and the film is planned for release in April 2014.
Hemsworth will next be seen in Red Dawn, an action film due this fall and costarring Josh Hutcherson, and Rush, a biopic about Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda, due in 2013. He will also star in the sequel Thor: The Dark World, currently filming.
Spielberg has directed Lincoln, a biography of the US president portrayed by Daniel Day-Lewis and due in movie theaters this December in North America. It costars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises), Sally Field (The Amazing Spider-Man), Jackie Earle Haley (Dark Shadows) and Tommy Lee Jones (Men In Black III).
