Review: ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’

Mr. Lincoln fights his way to look for the vampire who killed his mother and faces lots of consequences of being a vampire hunter

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - 20th Century FOX

Director: Timur Bekmambetov

Who's in it: Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rufus Sewell

What's it about: Explores the secret life of the America's greatest president, Abraham Lincoln, and the untold story that shaped their nation. The president discovers blood-thirsty vampires are planning to take over the United States. Lincoln makes it his mission to eliminate them, becoming history's greatest hunter of the un-dead.

Why we like it: The story line and acting are all great; each actor put in a great performance. The story was easy to understand and the action part was really enjoyable with lots of vampire clashes. Action action, the friendship and loyalty theme played out nicely, like how not giving up on war fit into the story. The picture and motion were great and the flashback stories added more character to the overall film.

Why we don't: Even though the movie's great, it was not an Oscar winning show with some unnecessary scenes. The 3D effect lacked the 'wow' factor and didn't seem to add anything to the movie.

Verdict: If you have read the book and love vampire shows, then this is the movie for you. It's full on action packed and won't disappoint.

Rating: 4 (out of 5 stars)
