Christian Bale, star of "The Dark Knight Rises," said in an interview about the prequel, "I knew it was going to happen for me because I was contracted to do this film. I had no choice, I would have been sued up the ying-yang and be on the street and penniless if I hadn't done it. Chris (Director Christopher Nolan), my understanding was, could have chosen not to do it, but he had always talked about this as being a trilogy and he liked the challenge that an awful lot of movies fail on the third one."

Well, aren't we glad he just had to get into Batman's suit again?

The English actor is becoming increasingly popular for his ability to drastically transform, physically, in order to better suit roles ranging from insomniac industrial worker to superhero of Gotham City.

While Christian has made it known that is he no social butterfly, neither is he one for the interviews, the "Terminator Salvation" star does seem to have a sense of humour. Click through our gallery to see his rapid and drastic transformations of succession in time.
