R&B singer Chris Brown was sentenced to five years probation by a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, for assaulting former girlfriend Rihanna, yesterday (25.08.2009). The 20-year-old was also sentenced to six months community labour.

Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, beat 83 other contestants to win the Miss Universe 2009 beauty pageant held in Nassau, Bahamas on Monday morning (24.08.09). The 18 year-old Stefania inherited the Miss Universe crown from another Venezuelan, last year's winner Dayana Mendoza - making it two wins in a row for the South American country at the world's most glamourous beauty pageant.

British newcomer Kasabian thrilled the 15,000 strong crowd at the MTV World Stage 'Live In Malaysia' held last Saturday (15.08.2009) at Sunway Lagoon. Kasabian was the final band to perform that night and they belted out three of their biggest hit singles at their very first performace in Asia.
