Season of the Witch
Dominic Sena made one of Nicolas Cage's most purely enjoyable movies back in 2000; packed with strong actors goofing around within the action genre, "Gone in Sixty Seconds" was the expertly choreographed, high-octane machine that made the "Fast and the Furious" movies look like a good idea. A reunion with Cage for a medieval action-thriller about two crusaders who find themselves escorting an accused witch to trial sounded like a good idea, too... but in execution it's an excruciating dud, with Cage scowling dourly while trudging over hill and dale, debating spiritual matters with his sexy prisoner. It's a theological thriller that makes "The Rite" seem thoughtful.
