Whenever Kanye West turns up at the VMAs, interesting stuff usually happens... like, that whole big on-stage argy bargy with Taylor Swift from a couple of years ago.
However, Kanye reportedly pulled out of appearing at the VMAs this time around because his girlfriend Kim Kardashian was over the other side of America in New York with a prior engagement. According to the MailOnline the rapper wanted to be there to support her.
Or maybe he just wanted to give Taylor Swift a breather.
