1962: The Beatles release first single
During 1962 The Beatles had recorded fifteen songs and auditioned for various record labels under Epstein's management. After being rejected by every major record label in the UK, they were finally signed by Parlophone's George Martin, who recommended a new drummer to replace Pete Best - Ringo Starr.
In September 1962, the band's lineup was complete as they recorded their first hit Love Me Do, which charted in the UK and reached the top of the US singles chart.
