Born James Paul McCartney on 18 June 1942, no one could have predicted that the young boy of medical nurse Mary, and cotton salesman Jim would become a worldwide phenomenon. Crowned the most successful songwriter in UK history by the Guinness Book of Records with over 100 million albums and singles sold, McCartney remains one of the greatest entertainers of all time.
