Jennifer dated lady-killer John Mayer (he's also cosied up with Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Love Hewitt among other starlets) in 2008, after being set-up by mutual friend Sheryl Crow. For the first time since her marriage ended, Jen was happy to be photographed at public events alongside her date, and even took him to the Academy Awards. But just days after the event, they split for good. Mayer blamed 'different chemistry' for the break-up but described Jen as: 'The smartest, most sophisticated person I think I have ever met.'
