One look at Harith Iskander and Dr. Jezamine's newborn son Zander and you'd be hard pressed not to melt.
The Malaysian comedian and his wife welcomed their first child just last month and it looks like parenthood is agreeing very nicely with them. In an exclusive interview with MSN, the couple told us how they decided on the unique name...and why Harith thinks his son is destined to be an Ultimate Fighting Champion.

Haljel .. after reading your comments,i think you have nothing better to do in your daily life but just to sit and comment about other people's sons name which you have problems with and others dont..keep your opinion to yourself, firstly i assume you ahve nothing to do with this boy or their LIFE,, you didnt pay for their medical bills,i assume you dont even know them.. with you writing will not make a difference but only create space for ppl to judge you. non of your business and it is their rights and their wish .. u can name your son whatever name you want .. and i love ZANDER..it is a nice name .. BABY zander is SOOOOO CUTE.. HE is ADORABLE !!! CONGRATS TO THIS COUPLE ..

Zander is a nice name. I don't see why it really comes to faith race etc? So if you like simplicity go ahead to name your child the way YOU LIKE! So what if they named their baby Zander? Its them that'll be calling him THAT name till death do them apart. Its already offensive to critic other ppl's choice in naming their child. BTW, have you BEEN THERE?? I have and coming from in-laws. It hurts like you'll never know! Even my OWN parents have no say in it and why should my in-laws have a say too? And who are you to have a say in how they name their baby?
Name melayu ke, cina ke tamil ke... as long as the child HAS name sudah la! Ni nak critic critic pulak. Really, I'm sure this pair of parents would just tell you mind your own business. BTW least they did not name their baby after a fruit: Apple, Peaches etc.....

Haljel, i know you have the right to speak one's mind and share of your thought. but Zander is Harith's son and he is a father now. I am sure he knows what he's doing to his very own son. There is always a reason for everything, and im sure Harith has his own reason why he decided to put Zander. like he did mention above, he wanted to put Alexander but its a common name, and they shortened it to Zander. Ciri-ciri Islam is still there dont you think?
Harith is still a muslim, so is his wife.

To Haljel- I agree with you 1000%! But it's just an exercise in futility when you carry on arguing with those who are either just not privileged to be enlightened, just too caught up with this illusion of their perfect( but oh so short & fleeting) world and think that they're more knowledgeable than the Creator (that is if they believe or still think they believe in the One and the Messenger) or just plain stupid & ignorant. Concentrate your efforts in helping those who still possess true believe in their hearts & are willing to be helped, save as many as you can and pray that they and their kith & kindred (including ourselves) are protected and rightly guided in anticipation of the End Times, ameen. As Muslims (Parents) by naming one's children with the 99 names of ALLAH swt...it is a privilege as well as honor...HUKUM NYA HARUS..UNDERSTAND...Before a child grows up into an adult...that child is given a name first..RIGHT...If that name has a meaning that DEPICTS one of the 99 characteristics of ALLAH swt...like benevolent, patience,strong,, greatness...by Allah swt grace and will..that child COULD become one...UNDERSTAND...If you're a MUSLIM...then there is no grounds what so ever for you not to dislike my arguement but to AGREE....But if you are a NON - MUSLIM...I STRONGLY advise you to go and seek the views of an USTAZ so that YOU will fully UNDERSTAND and COMPREHEND what I am talking about rather then superficially and aimless disliking and arguing......If you're a MUSLIM is STRONGLY advise that YOU increase you seriously depleted knowledge of Islam...so that YOU will not be a MUSLIM of FORM but a MUSLIM of SUBSTANCE

In Islam, there are 100 names of Allah swt ...like Rahman and others...Wouldn't you be extremely proud to have a name that is directly associated with the God that you pray to FIVE TIMES A DAY....Zander..What does in mean in Islam or English for that matter?...Please enlighten me...maybe I miss something during Islamic religious class when I was a child...To parents and would be parents, especially Muslim parents please seriously consider when giving a name to one's child because it may be alphabets to you which sounds nice and catchy...but to that child it will mean 'Who was I? Who am I? Who am I going to be?....
