It's always heartbreaking when a public figure takes his own life despite the tremendous love his fans have for him. On 1 April 2003, Leslie Cheung jumped to his death from a Hong Kong hotel building; the last person he saw was designer friend Alfred Mok.
Voted one of the most iconic musicians of all time, Leslie Cheung enjoyed a successful acting and music career throughout his lifetime.
Today, we celebrate the achievements of Leslie Cheung and remember his 56th birthday on 12 September.
