The Apprentice Asia is the adaptation of the US reality series. It is yet another made-in-Asia-for-Asia Original Production after The Amazing Race Asia, which was filmed in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. This time around, contestants are to impress aviation tycoon, Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia who turned the ailing airline into a highly successful budget airline. 12 contestants were shortlisted from around Asia and one of them will be walking away with the opportunity to work for Tony in one of his enterprises.

The 12 best business entrepreneurs who were shortlisted represent Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. Three Malaysians made the cut to be among other competitive contestants from ages 25 to 38, where some already own a thriving business back in their homeland.

Contestants were put to challenges testing their skills in various areas where they first split into teams based on gender. Tony’s advisors Mark Lankester and Kathleen Tan were constantly on ground to observe each team as they complete their tasks. In this upcoming reality TV show, viewers can expect a group of strong clashing leaders who are ambitious and strong willed, where alliances are forged and nerves are frayed during each boardroom session. This is a challenge where contestants must impress Tony with their talents and skills, leaving the best one to survive until the end of the competition.

Catch The Apprentice Asia live and exclusive on AXN which premieres on 22 May 2013 every Wednesday at 9.05pm (SG, MY, HK, PH) 8.05pm (JKT).
