The Offspring – Days Go By

In a nutshell: Known as the guys who brought you 'Self Esteem', 'The Kids Aren't Alright', 'You're Gonna Go Far, Kid' and the ever popular 'Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)' , this is The Offspring's 10th studio album. Packed with 12 tracks, this album has a mixed variety of pop, punk and signature "Offspring" parodies.

Why we like it: Variety. We like how drastically different each song is in this album yet all tracks have a certain summer day feel to it. The album begins with classic heavy punk songs like 'The Future Is Now' and 'Secret from the Underground' which is then followed by the catchy, sing along songs like 'Days Go By' and 'Dirty Magic', which sounds like something the Foo Fighters might play. There are also unique parodies like 'Cruising California (Bumpin' In My Truck)' and 'OC Guns', not to mention ballads like 'All I have Left Is You'.

Why we don't: The boys took a big risk having such huge changes in this album. Some tracks sound far beyond what The Offspring sounds like which might not do very well with fans of The Offspring's older materials.

Verdict: We loved the choice of variety that this album has to offer, from heavy punk stuff to hip hop influenced tracks. This is the perfect album for your soundtrack to the summer.
