SM Entertainment has been enticing K-pop fans around the world with teaser photos of "Beautiful Men" for almost a week now and finally, the day has come - the official release of Super Junior's 6th album, 'Sexy, Free and Single'.
With the departure of Heechul to serve his national service term starting September last year, and the return of Kangin, the album comes 11 months after the release of 'Superman/A-cha' and a sold-out Super Show 4 Tour, and will feature 10 songs crossing many music genres.
The title track, 'Sexy, Free and Single', a soulful mix of house and R&B music, is about the success story of sexy, free and single men who has gone through life to find triumph, victory and freedom. As with previous Super Junior performances, we can expect to see a visually stunning performance with the song being choreographed by Devin Jamieson, who has also worked with famous pop stars like Britney Spers, Hillary Duff and even K-pop Queen BoA.
Winning M-net's 20's Choice Global Star award recently, Super Junior also has said that one of the tracks on the album, 'From U', is a song specially dedicated to their fan club, E.L.F. - short for Ever Lasting Friends - and will be performed alongside the title song while promoting the album. This R&B song will reflect the relationship between the stars themselves and their fans (or 'soulmates') as they have shown unfailing love to the band while they go through the ups and downs of fame.
Other tracks in the album includes 'Gulliver' - combining rap from Lee Teuk, Shin Dong, Eun Hyuk (who also wrote the rap) and Dong Hae, and Ryeo Wook's suave vocal. Yesung, Sung Min, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun's vocals are highlighted in the song 'Bittersweet'., a modern ballad rock song which will superbly show the harmonization of their individual but powerful vocals.
The album also contains a remake of Lee Sang Eun's 'Someday' - an excellent showcase of Super Junior's maturing sound with a new touch to a classic song. Other songs in the album also include the funky pop-rock tune 'Now', dance track 'Rockstar', and the beautiful track 'Papillion' ('Butterfly' in French) and two emotionally attuned songs 'Daydream' and 'A 'Good'bye'.
Although the physical album will only be released on July 4th, we have a sneak preview of the music video of the title song 'Sexy, Free and Single' (see below). Don't know about you, but we are excited for this album to drop!
