Far East Movement – Dirty Bass

FM is turning up the love with that dirty bass and they’re never coming down.

In a nutshell: 2 Years later sees Far East Movement (also known as FM) with a new studio album, this one they've decided to title "Dirty Bass." These boys rose to hot stuff when their single "Like a G6" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and on iTunes in 2010.

Why we like it: We absolutely love the title "Dirty Bass" - putting aside our personal passion for all things bass; "Dirty Bass" stands right out in a day and age where the Grammys are more than welcoming music producers like Guetta, Deadmau5 and Skrillex. Expect upbeat party tracks with vocals every now and then, "If I Die Tomorrow" featuring Bill Kaulitz and "Ain't Coming Down" standing out more than the others; no, we weren't very impressed with their collaboration with Justin Bieber.

Why we don't: We're noticing a pattern in FM's music - it's all about being "flier" and going "higher." With tracks like "Live My Life," "Turn Up The Love," "Ain't Coming Down" and "Fly With U," no listener could ever be down, seriously. Not that anyone would welcome feeling down or that people in general wouldn't like to feel fly, we're just concerned that theme could be a little old after 2 studio albums. It's the same way in which you wonder how Eminem can stay so angry for so many years.

Verdict: Great party tracks with upbeat tunes, Far East Movement do some really great collaboration works.
