The ongoing 2011 Venice Film Festival hasn't seen a shortage of mega-watt star power with Hollywood and Hong Kong's finest lining up the red carpet.
Cantopop king Andy Lau promoted his film "A Simple Life" in Venice, which explores the subject of aging in a nursing home.
Hollywood legend Al Pacino was honoured with the Glory to the Filmmaker Award, and gave a speech in both Italian and English, saying "What am I doing standing here, speaking in English? I'm an Italian for God's sake. Why am I speaking in English? I wish I knew how to speak in Italian because it's inside me, you know."
