South Korean director Kwak Jae-yong fired from "Yang Gui Fei"
According to the statement issued by the production team of "Yang Gui Fei," the South Korean director Kwak Jae-yong refused to shoot the film according to its requirements which emphasized a traditional Chinese understanding of the Tang Dynasty (Source: CriEnglish).
Rumours that the director left due to a dispute with lead actress Fan Bingbing were denied; a new director has been selected and will be announced soon.
Shooting for the film commenced in January and tells the story of a historical Chinese beauty who was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang; other members of the cast include American-Chinese actor John Lone and Wang Leehom.
