The Asian version of the highly-successful reality TV program The Biggest Loser will be premiering on November 24, 2009, every Tuesday at 9pm on Hallmark Channel (Astro Channel 702).
Asia’s heaviest have not wasted any time to be on the Asian edition of the highly successful and inspirational American unscripted show, The Biggest Loser, which has eight successful seasons under its belt and is broadcast in 90 countries around the world.
In 14 weekly one-hour episodes, viewers get to watch as the 30 pre-selected participants put their faces, bodies and pride on the line to show the world how serious they are in cutting the fat from their lives.
Led by fitness trainers Dave Nuku and Kristy Curtis, the contestants will have to face a diet and lifestyle overhaul as they will also have to surrender their luxuries in life such as mobile phones and Internet access on the boot camp. They will have to eat healthily too and survive on a daily maximum of just 1,500 calories.
The participant who loses the most weight wins the grand prize of US$100,000 and a luxurious Renault car.
The Biggest Loser Asia is a pan-regional production produced by Imagine Group (Contender Asia) and is hosted by Malaysian celebrity Sarimah Ibrahim (host of Astro’s Diary Akademi Fantasia 6 and 7) and supported by established global brands - Fitness First, provider of weight-loss expertise for the contestants, Nestle and Renault, and venue sponsor A’Formosa.
