All The Worlds (ATW) – Universal Music’s live events joint venture – announced its inaugural F1 Rocks music extravaganza, which will take place from September 24th to the 26th, leading up to Singapore’s much-anticipated Formula One night race.
Among the international superstars who will be performing at the F1 Rocks event, which spans three days, include R&B queen Beyonce Knowles, the Black Eyed Peas, ZZ Top, Simple Minds, N*E*R*D and Canto-pop legend Jackie Cheung. Between them, they have sold more than 245 million albums worldwide, making the F1 Rocks event one of the biggest-profiled events ever held in Singapore.
According to the organizers, the event – which will be held at Fort Canning Park, Singapore – fuses the most popular annual sporting series with iconic music stars to create an unrivalled experience for Formula One and music fans alike.
“The partnership between the world’s most thrilling sport and the world’s biggest music company is one of the most exciting entertainment initiatives to be launched anywhere,” said Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group International.
The F1 Rocks event is fully supported by the Singapore Tourism Board. Being the only city in the world to ever host a night Formula One race, the race weekend will also be complimented by the 10-day Singapore GP Season – a carnival-like event which offers lifestyle and entertainment experiences including all-night parties, art exhibitions, great Asian cuisine and retail promotions.
Besides that, several big bands and performers will also take the stage to entertain the crowd during the weekend-long 2009 Formula One Singtel Singapore Grand Prix. Some of the circuit park entertainers include the Backstreet Boys, Chaka Khan, Scottish rock band Travis, Philippines' biggest rock band Rivermaya, Singaporean singer Dawn Ho and Electrico, Singapore’s most electrifying rock band, just to name a few.
For Malaysians, there will be a host of special promotions, from transportation to accommodation, during the Singapore GP Season. STB Malaysia has teamed up with renowned coach operators such as Airebus, Luxury Coach and Oddysey, leading low cost carriers AirAsia, Firefly and Tiger Airways as well as 29 Singaporean hotels to provide Malaysians with spectacular deals and packages especially for the Singapore GP Season.
