The regional weight loss reality TV show will be an unscripted life-changing series that will see overweight contestants lose pounds to win big. An ultimate cash prize of US$100,000 is up for grabs as an incentive for contestants who will have to undergo intense physical training and face life altering goals to achieve their main objective of losing weight.
The choice of Sarimah Ibrahim was an apt one considering the veteran host, who has 13 years of being in the entertainment industry behind her. Ibrahim is also a Karate black belt holder and has been, in her words, an avid gym-junkie.
She says of her new role, “I’m a huge fan of The Biggest Loser and becoming the host of The Biggest Loser Asia is the ultimate honour and responsibility thus far in my career. The show is definitely what reality-TV is about, as nothing can be more real to people than changing their lifestyles and mindsets.”
Casting for “The Biggest Loser Asia” has already begun and hopefuls can apply through biggestloserasia.com and Malaysian applicants can attend the live auditions at Fitness First in The Curve Mutiara Damansara on 1 August 2009.
The sixth season of “The Biggest Loser” US series can now be seen on the Hallmark Channel (Astro 702) every Tuesday at 9pm.
